Review: The Fall of Hyperion by Dan Simmons

Epic. Comparable and maybe even better than Dune. Sci-fi, Cyberpunk, speculative fiction, horror, and fantasy all rolled in to (with the book 1: Hyperion) a magnum opus of literary achievement that is even more timely and important today than when it was written in 1990.

Deep characters, and intertwined story that all comes together amazingly. Twists that bring a smile to your face laced throughout. Quite literally, one of the most amazing books (series) I've ever read.

As far as plot... Go read it.

I'm going to get back to my normal rotation for a bit before embarking on the final 2 books in this series (Endymion and then Rise of Endymion). Like the first 2 books, they are actually one book published separately so, I want to do them together. Just from the summaries, I can tell they will be epic too.

If you like Sci-fi or even fantasy, you should read the Hyperion series. It's beyond amazing.

2021 Book Completion Count: 12 (and 1 Novella/ Short Story)
