Movie Review: The Conjuring (2013 - Netflix)

So I heard there was a The Conjuring Universe and I became intrigued.
Apparently, what Starts with this first movie, ties together this series with the Annabelle movies and The Nun movies into one universe. Check this out, must I.

Premise: A family moves into a possessed house and becomes possessed too. A pair of demonologists must help rid them of the entity.

Credit given where credit due. With mostly practical effects and tension in spades, this movie was pretty damn good. The jump scenes come out of nowhere and the people dealing with the haunting are believable and likable so that you care. Can someone redo IT without CGI and take notes from this movie on how it should be done?

Funny seeing Lili Taylor in this as she was also in The Haunting from 1999 with Catherine Zeta-Jones. Did horror become her niche? She kind of vanished off the radar for while there.

Worth the viewing for sure. I'm probably late to the game on this one because until recently I've skipped all of these horror movies. Catching up now.

Still not "scary" per say but a good amount of tension.
