Spider-Man Far from Home (Review - No Spoilers)
What a great summer movie. It was light-hearted and fun, just the way a Spider-Man movie should be. There was a ton of fun for Spidey fans, especially those of us into the comic books. And the first post credit scene is monumental. In fact, it's one of the best things since the original Sam Rami trilogy!!! I did not see it coming and it was so welcome!!!
By the way, if you have seen all of the trailers for this movie, you haven't seen this movie. They did not give anything away, which was great. It's also nice to look back at several pop culture sites who wrote long speculative articles, as if they knew the plot, and see that they were 100% wrong. Clicks and ads… a good reminder to just ignore speculative nonsense.
For me, I thought this was a great palate cleanser from the plot hole mess that was Avengers: Endgame. They dealt with the 5 year time jump really well and also with the loss of Tony Stark. It is definitely the end of this phase of the MCU. Also of note, it is a bit sad that the late Stan Lee can’t make anymore appearances. I think his absence will be felt for quite a few more years in these movies.
All in all, it was a great and fun summer flick, which is also a welcome addition to the Spider-Man movie history. I can’t wait for the next one!!!
